The Minor Softball program introduces players to softball concepts and fundamentals. Proper techniques in all aspects – throwing, catching, hitting and fielding – are stressed. Teams play citywide with other 7-9 year old teams in association with the Lowell Girls Softball League.
Umpires are not used, scores are not recorded, and team standings are not maintained. Coaches pitch to their respective teams and provide on-field instruction during game play. We ensure that all players participate in all games at various positions. Games may be preceded by an instructional/practice session that includes both teams.
Coaches will actively assist in helping players understand the game more strategically, with a focus on teaching softball fundamentals and developing core skills for all participants.
